The AltRider part is larger than OEM, and features an enclosed top that attaches to the nut on the inside of the subframe mount. This is important, because the OEM can easily slip inside or snag riding gear, tripping you up when you attempt to move your foot - the AltRider design features an enclosed top that prevents this from occurring. Additionally, the OEM rubber boot that covers the universal joint is attached only by friction, and could become dislodged by foreign objects.
