Decades ago some resourceful bike builder grafted Fords ubiquitous Model A taillight to the rear end of his bobber and an enduring element of the classic chopper aesthetic was born. While certainly functional,Henry Fords taillight can look slightly bulbous on a strippeddown chopper,especially on lean machines like Triumphs,Sportsters and XS650s. Biltwells Model B taillight addresses this shortcoming by reducing the size of the whole component while mimicking the mounting footprint of the Model A. The result is a taillight approximately half the diameter of a Model A that retrofits onto sidemount license plate brackets currently available from a wide range of popular suppliers. If your motorcycle doesnt feature one of these brackets,Biltwell offers three lasercut steel brackets for custom mounting: two for welding onto sissy bars and one for bolting onto the fender. The Model B is machined from billet alloy,then hand polished to a bright raw finish. Biltwells popular matte black electroplated surface treatment is also available. The internals of the Model B feature a custom twophase LED and a robust injectionmolded polycarbonate plastic lens with attractive water droplet surface detailing.
